Dear friends:
We have some exciting praises as well as prayer requests for these upcoming weeks.
ORISSA: Our biggest praise at this point is that our jailed BCM pastor in Orissa has been freed. We have not received word yet about the other eight believers with him. Phone calls received have been cautious and of necessity cryptic. We will pass on more news when we get it. Marty travels to India June 20-July 3, and if all continues well, he will be meeting with this pastor as well as the rest of the Orissa pastors and missionaries end of June. A second praise is that to date more than $20,000 donations have come in that Marty will be able to take specifically for the rebuilding of churches and pastors' homes; at this point, these will be a priority.
AFGHANISTAN: Jeanette leaves Sunday, June 1, to Kabul, Afghanistan, for two weeks, returning June 16. How this door opened up is in itself a story of God's working. She will be staying with a humanitarian NGO there. More details upon return. Please pray for the transfer in New Delhi Monday, June 2nd. The New Delhi-Kabul leg requires a paper ticket that is supposed to be waiting at the airport upon arrival 9 PM, to fly at 7 AM the next morning to Kabul. A representative for the travel agency is supposed to deliver that. Please pray all goes well and for safety in a currently rather volatile spot on the map.
SPAIN: It has been SO exciting for Ellie to see God's provision as gifts have been coming in toward her summer missions trip to work at  BCM's Bethel Bible Camp, in Segovia, Spain. To date, about $2000 have come in toward the $3000 total. She leaves June 9th through July 30th. Please pray for her flight and personnel connections, as this will be her first time traveling alone. Someone from Bethel will be driving the two hours to pick Ellie up at the Madrid airport.
MYANMAR: Finally, we have heard from both the CLC Myanmar publisher, Joseph Mung, who is publishing our BCM curriculum in Burmese, and others of the Christian community's involvement in helping with the cyclone victims, and the doors this has opened to share God's love as well. Here is just one small note from Joseph of his own personal involvement:
"Our initial step is to help the immediate needs of food, clothing, medicine, water, Bible and gospel tracts as well as books that will comfort them. We are trying our best with the whatever amount we have with us which is just nothing comparing to the great needs. But we are so happy to serve in whatever way we can.
"And the second step is to help them the rebuilding of houses and churches.  So far our contacts concern we have met with 238 families in the city of Yangon and 47 houses are badly effected.  And the rest are needed only minor repair.  In the town of Phyarpone there were one house was totally destroyed and altogether 182 families lost all the roofs of their houses. There were one church out of two destroyed. In the town of Kyitelatt there were 26 families and the Pastors house was the only house that was left saved. All these people so far we met them great needs  not just for their daily manna but also for the rebuilding of their houses.
"There are many more needs as we go more interior places. As the need is so great and we would like to ask your continue
prayers.  We would like to help and serve as the Lord provides relief funds. So far whoever we met we wanted to let them know that God loves and cares for them.  This is our great opportunity to minister the love of God in actions and through His Word."END
We tend to think primarily of the great relief efforts coming from Western governments, NGOs, and Christian ministries, and these are certainly invaluable. But it is truly exciting to know that we are one body with brothers and sisters already on the ground standing for their faith in very hard places, and we are privileged to be working together with them in reaching a lost and hurting world with God's love. Please continue to pray for Joseph Mung and our other BCM personnel in Myanmar. And in Orissa and so many other places around the world.
In the service of the King of Kings and partnership with the body of Christ worldwide,
          Marty and Jeanette Windle
