     Attached is an update from BCM India on the Orissa situation. Please forgive any grammar difficulties; we are forwarding this exactly as we received it. The pastor in the picture with Marty is BCM missionary, Pastor Dhasharat, whose 24 year old son was among three BCM believers murdered by Hindu mobs. 43 out of the 62 BCM Orissa pastors met with Marty end of June, Pastor Dhasharat among them. Their ministry has baptised over 2000 new believers in the last decade or so. Most congregations are still house churches, but the eleven actual BCM church buildings are now all destroyed. More details in their own words. BCM leadership is currently meeting to make decisions as to how to deal with this situation. While this has been little in US secular news, it has been covered extensively in Christian press like CBN and overseas. The prime minister of India is receiving much pressure to enforce the freedom of religion guaranteed in India's constitution.
