Dear friends:
Winter has finally set in here in Lancaster with even a skiff of snow, though that has melted without enough accumulation for sledding, to Ellie's disappointment. Marty leaves at noon for New York where he will be flying out to Brazil for a week with our VP of Ministries, Dr. Vararuchi Dalavai, who is here from India and meeting up with our new Latin America director Daniel Ortiz. Please pray for this trip. They are going specifically to deal with a very difficult situation that has developed on the Brazil field. Marty has been dealing with a number of crises in different ministries lately as well as a general financial crisis of BCM as a whole. Please pray for God's wisdom and strength for Marty in all these areas as well as God's provision for these wonderful people and ministries around the world. It so often seems an impossible task, but this is God's church and work, and we trust wholly in His faithfulness and sovereignty no matter what the present circumstances. A praise is that I, Jeanette, was able to return from a short retreat after New Years with my new book, Fires Below (Paz Ardiendo in Spanish), finished. A final editing will have it to Tyndale within another week. The spiritual message is a powerful one; our prayer is that it will make it quickly through the printing process. Another praise: our new personnel director, Joe Dukes, has been able to sell his home in England and is moving now here to Lancaster to work with Marty. Our God is good--let's hold onto that in a 2007 that already promises to be tumultuous for all of us Stateside and around the world.
