Dear friends:
Romans 12:15 tells us to 'rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.' Nowhere is this Scripture more applicable than in an international mission headquarters with on-the-ground ministry leaders in every time zone around the planet. In Sri Lanka our missionaries and pastors are being increasingly targeted by anti-conversion Buddhist extremist parties attacking churches and threatening Christian schools. But we rejoice in a just-finished BCM regional leadership conference there that brought in leaders even from countries that forbid open Christian worship for an exciting few days of training and community.
Prayer requests come in daily of health and financial crises, new regional disasters, or spiritual battles from BCM ministry fields around the world. Then comes praise for an evangelistic crusade in the Ukraine with attendance ranging from 3-5000 with 160 people receiving Christ. Three new motorcycles have arrived for ministry travel in an area of India where one city alone has 80,000 children in BCM Bible clubs--motorcycles supplied by some of you. A camp debt in New York has been paid in full. A new camp has opened in the Bolivian highlands.
Yes, daily we 'rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep'. If you are interested in praying more specifically for BCM's many ministries around the world, drop us a note, and we'll add you to our Prayer Bulletin or sign up at www.bcmintl.org for the BCM World, our on-line news magazine . If you haven't heard from us in--hmm, it must be well over a month now, it's because a chronology of our most recent trips doesn't really offer much new to say. :) Marty recently returned from a ministry trip to Calgary and Edmonton. Jeanette spoke last week at the Florida Christian Writers Conference. Marty travels next week to Orlando for a conference. An area missions conference this weekend. Etc!
One real prayer request is a ministry trip to South Africa, Swaziland, and Mozambique Marty will be taking the last ten days of March. Please pray for safety in travel and encouragement for our missionaries and pastors there. In Swaziland we have two single women missionaries who reach 6000 children a week in Bible classes (entire schools release the children when the women come into a village) while supporting themselves largely through a small seamstress vision). Their scant BCM support goes for gas for their elderly 4X4 jeep. In Mozambique our missionaries live and work in some of the most difficult conditions on the planet. Pray too for our new Media Services missionary, Larry Tomlinson, who has been of enormous help to BCM in establishing a video department, web services, and countless other hi-tech needs. He will be taking his first video-journalism missions trip for BCM to film these ministries (he's in the process of raising ministry funds for this trip and another to India, Sri Lanka, and Philippines this summer, so if you're interested in giving towards that, let us know!).
On the home front, Steve leaves in two weeks to navy boot camp and submarine school. Pray for his health in the whole process and guidance in his future. Meanwhile, Ellie finally got the snow she wanted--LOTS of it, if you've been watching the news. Enough that she and her friends are tired of sledding on the big hill across from our house and happy to wish for spring. :)
Thank you as always for your prayers and share in our ministry team. If you've got a minute, drop us a note with your own family news and prayer needs. We always appreciate those who write and have heard from so few in recent months we've been wondering if our e-mail has had problems (okay, so you're all burned out with Christmas cards!).
May our heavenly Father richly bless you as you so richly bless us!
In the service of the King of Kings,
     Marty and Jeanette Windle
